Amazon pays millions for Matt Damon-produced film

Tech giant Amazon has paid $10 million for the Matt Damon-produced film, "Manchester by the Sea," a movie that was made in Massachusetts.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) — which has been beefing up its streaming video service in competition with Netflix — was in a bidding war with Sony Pictures Classics, Universal, Fox Searchlight and Lionsgate for the rights to the movie.
The film stars Casey Affleck, Michelle Williams and Kyle Chandler.
