There are 40,000 small businesses in Boston. Here’s how the city plans to help them.

A new report from the city of Boston recommends establishing a small business center, a 311 hotline to cater to those businesses and a new small business web portal.

The creation of the plan is the result of a year-long effort, co-led by the city’s Department of Neighborhood Development and the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development.
